FOHE Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Future of Higher Ed, LLC (“FOHE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a professional community organization. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information you provide when you apply to join our community through the Join FOHE application form.
2. Information we collect
When you submit the Join FOHE application form, we collect the following information:
- Name
- Email address
- Current location (city/region — used to match you to a local chapter)
- LinkedIn profile URL
- Professional role and organization
- Any other information you voluntarily provide in the application
We assume your current location as provided reflects your place of residence for legal compliance purposes.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Evaluate your application to join the FOHE community
- Match you with a local FOHE chapter based on your location
- Communicate with you about your application, membership, and community activities (via email and Slack)
- Maintain our internal member directory
- Share your information with other FOHE community members (name, location, email, LinkedIn, role, and organization) for community networking purposes
4. Sharing with sponsors
FOHE may share certain member information (name, location, email, LinkedIn, role, and organization) with our sponsors and partners as part of our sponsorship arrangements. This may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some privacy laws.
Your choices:
- You may opt out of having your information shared with sponsors at any time through your member settings.
- Members based in the European Union or European Economic Area are automatically excluded from sponsor data sharing by default.
- Members based in Connecticut are automatically excluded from sponsor data sharing by default.
We will never share your information with sponsors if you have opted out, or if you are an EU/EEA or Connecticut-based member who has not explicitly opted in.
5. Applicable privacy laws
Depending on where you live, additional rights and obligations may apply:
- EU/EEA members (GDPR): Opt-in consent is required before your data is shared with sponsors. You are automatically opted out by default. You have rights to access, correct, restrict processing, and request deletion of your data.
- Connecticut members (CTDPA): You are automatically opted out of sponsor sharing by default. You have the right to opt out of the sale of your personal data.
- Canada: We comply with applicable Canadian privacy laws regarding the collection and use of your data.
6. Data storage
Your information is stored securely in our member database (powered by Supabase). FOHE has executed a Data Processing Agreement with Supabase as required under applicable law, including GDPR, for EU member data stored on US servers.
7. Data retention and deletion
We retain your information for as long as you are a member of the FOHE community. If you leave the community or request deletion:
- EU/EEA members who request full deletion will have all personal data removed, including email address. We may retain a hashed (anonymized) identifier to recognize previous deletions.
- For other members, we may retain basic account information (such as your email address) in our records for internal admissions purposes, unless you explicitly request full deletion.
8. Community communications
By joining FOHE, you consent to receiving operational and community-related messages from FOHE via email and our Slack workspace. You may unsubscribe from FOHE emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, while still remaining a member of the community.
9. Your rights and controls
Through your member profile, you can:
- Toggle sponsor data sharing on or off
- Unsubscribe from FOHE emails (while remaining in the community)
- Request full account deletion
- Request an export of your personal data

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our community channels.
